Jack Stanley Hinthorn passed away after a sudden illness at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on May 6th, 2007. Funeral services were held Friday, May 11th at 10:00am at the Free Methodist Church in Bonners Ferry. He was born November 27, 1942 to Omer Stanley and Leta (McAfferty) Hinthorn in Carlock, Illinois. He was raised in McClaine County; He enjoyed physical education in school and graduated in 1961 . Jack joined the Air Force in June 1961 and was stationed in South Carolina and Japan. After being discharged in 1965, he returned to Illinois to work on local farms. Jack met Jeannie Mills of Copeland, Idaho in 1965 and they were married in April 1967. They resided a short time in McClaine County, Illinois where he worked at Eureka Williams Factory before moving to Bonners Ferry to start their life here. They had two children, Kristi was born in 1968 and Travis followed in 1972. They divorced in 1981. Jack started working at Pack River Lumber Company in 1969 and worked there through W-I, Crown Pacific, and L-P until he retired. He enjoyed spending time with his kids, Grandkids, and numerous nieces and nephews. He loved bowling; attending Badger sporting events, playing rousing pinochle games with Grandma Mills, and one of his favorite pastimes was driving around the refuge. He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Hon. Ralph and Dotti Mills, sister Barbara Sampson, and Brothers Robert & Dean Hinthorn. He is survived by his daughter Kristi and husband Vern Wilson, son Travis and wife Kelly Hinthorn sister all of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; Honorary daughter Amy and Husband Robert Chaney; on Sister Mona White, five Brothers Bill, Roger, Ray, Harry, and Darrell Hinthorn; nephews Pat and wife Teresa Hinthorn, Ron and wife Sandra Hinthorn, and niece Heather and husband Allen Gemmrig and many more nieces and nephews. He was very proud of his grandchildren, Rebecca (Wilson) and Husband Will Crockett, Ryan and Rachael Wilson, Brady and Sydney Hinthorn, Olivia Chaney and great-nieces and nephews, Conner Hinthorn, Miriam, William, Samuel, and Meredith Hither, Raymond, Gavin, Jessica, and Molly Flower, and Matthew Gemmrig.
