Larry Oliver Billingsley (78) lost his battle with cancer at his home in Bonners Ferry, Idaho on May 2, 2011. Services were held on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
Larry was born in Linton, North Dakota on February 6, 1933 to Emerson and Bernice Billingsley. He had one brother and one sister.
In 1935 the family moved to Moyie Springs, Idaho. Larry worked at the Moyie River Lumber Co. for a short time logged and sold Christmas trees. For over 50 years, he split cedar starting with picket wood, the post and rails, and shakewood. He loved splitting cedar. He gaught his son Mike how to log at 8 years old. Larry joined the Army at the age of 17 and he went to Germany and drove tanks. He came home in 1954. Larry married Veryl Morrison in 1954 they had one child Michael.
In 1958 Larry was nominated to the office of Justice of the Peace of Moyie Springs. In 1966 they divorced and later he met Juudy Neer. They got married and had twins Donna and Danna.
Larry loved to pick huckleberries, traveling, fishing on the coast, hunting and gambling.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister.
Survivors include son Mike and wife Susan Billingsley of Troy, MT; daughters Donna Vickroy and husband Kevin of Troy, Montana; Danna Lemmert of Moyie Springs, Idaho; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
