Janet Susan Rate

Janet Susan Rate (75) passed away on June 14, 2011 with her loving family surrounding her. She was born on September 20, 2935 in Rugby North Dakota. Interment will be in East Helena, Montana next to her husband. She was preceded in death by her husband Lester Rate, Sr. and son Lester Rate, Jr. She is survived by daughter Cindy Lee Large and spouse Ron; son John Carl Rate and spouse Cindi and daughter-in-law Bonnie Rate. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and great-great-granddaughter. Janet drove school bus for 15 years. She was a wonderful knitter and won lots of ribbons for her work. She was married to Lester for 55 years. Janet loved to play games and enjoyed going to Pinochle. She ran the concession stand for the schools during her son’s athletic endeavors. Janet loved to dance and sing while her husband played the organ. She also enjoyed going to yard sales and was a good cook and never let company leave hungry while her family was eating breakfast, she would already be working on dinner. Janet was a snowbird and would winter over in California. She would spend hours watching birds and game shows. She was very loving and giving and would be willing to give the shirt off her back to benefit friends and family in need. She is well loved and will be missed by all.
