Tibor Kovacs, Jr. passed away on November 2, 2011 at the Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 1:00pm in the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home. Tibor Kovacs was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1949. His family escaped to Yugoslavia in 1957 in the dark of night. They were sponsored by an Hungarian family in America. They entered thru Ellis Island and from there made their way to California where their sponsors were. They lived in El Sereno, Tibor's Dad got a job at Farmer John in LA and Tibor, brother Alex and sister Julie started school. School was hard since they still needed to learn English, but the hungarian boyscouts helped out with that. Later they moved to West Covina, CA where Tibor continued on into high school and graduated. Tibor also met his future wife Barbara at this time in 1966. He was also going to TV repair classes with his Dad and working to help the family out. He continued on into college and graduated with an Associates of Science degree in Electronics. Tibor enlisted into the Navy in 1971 and after bootcamp he married in 1971. Tibor was stationed on the USS Coral Sea, an aircraft carrier. When Tibor got out of the Navy he went back to work at the same place he left for the Navy. He remained there until another company offered him a job closer to home and he still did TV/electronic repair as a side line at home. They moved to Idaho in 1991, Tibor enjoyed working on the property. Tibor made friends very easily, he was fair, witty, funny, charming and a friend to everyone he met. Tibor was dedicated to his family. He was smart and had a thirst for knowledge. He enjoyed the outdoors, watching wildlife from the back porch, he was a music lover-the louder the better. Tibor was a good husband, kind, caring and loving and always dependable. Even tho his life has been cut short he will always be remember by family and friends. Tibor is survived by Barbara, Alex, Julie, Julia his mother, 2 nieces, 5 nephews and their children. Go in Peace Tibor.
