Dorothy Ann Unruh

Dorothy Ann Unruh, a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and sister, passed away on November 3, 2007, after an eight-year courageous battle with breast cancer, surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 11:00 am at the United Methodist Church. Dorothy was born on December 2, 1938 to Robert and Naomi (Patterson) Shurtlieff in Springview, Nebraska. Dorothy moved with her family to Bonners Ferry in 1945. Dorothy attended school in Bonners Ferry and graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1957. After high school she was employed at Safeway, The Creamery, and then the School District Superintendent’s office as the secretary. In April 25, 1965 she married Delmar Unruh and became a fulltime wife and mother. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Ruth (Shurtlieff) Mohn. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 42 years, Delmar; her children: Keith (Audrey) Unruh, their children Colton, Dylan and Kinzie of Bonners Ferry; Derrill (Laura) Unruh, their children Devon, Tanner and Chloe of Hayden, Idaho; Jenny (Davy) Donohoe, their daughter Ashley of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Dorothy is also survived by her sister Janet Dickson of Robinson, Pa., a brother Robert Shurtlieff Jr. of Spokane and numerous nieces and nephews. The entire family helped care for Dorothy during her illness and remained by her side during her passing.
