Charles Clinton (Clint) Chamberlin (84) passed away at his home in Bonners Ferry, Idaho on November 27, 2007. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 3, 2007 at 10:00am in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Private internment will be in Grandview Cemetery.
Charles Clinton Chamberlin born in Elkhart Kansas on March 10th, 1923 the son of William R. and Margery B. (Cunningham) Chamberlin went to be with the lord on November 27, 2007. Clint attended Bonners Ferry High School and is a long time resident of Bonners Ferry, Idaho since 1935. He married Doris Larson on August 3, 1947 and they continued to raise a family in Bonners Ferry. They have two children, Robert Chamberlin and Cynthia Morgan (Chamberlin).
Clint is a WWII veteran where he served in the African and Burma theaters for the duration of the war. He was recalled to the Army for the Korean War and served this time on U.S. soil.
He worked in the woods as a logger and he worked at the saw mill through many owners and retired from the mill in 1992. In the 1970’s he also ran a backhoe business in the Bonners Ferry area and later started an electrician business that served Bonners Ferry and the surrounding community.
Clint always loved airplanes and flying. He was instrumental in many improvements at the Boundary County airport and was at the airport most of his senior years flying and working on airplanes and helping others with airplanes and flying. Clint continued to work up through his 84 years as he couldn't understand a person not having a job and being useful
He was active in the American legion and the Knights of Pythias where he served in many local and national officer positions. Clint is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
He was a great husband, father, father in law, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle, and a great person to be around.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Margery Chamberlin and a sister Rosella.
He is survived by his wife, Doris at the home, his children, Robert (Susan) of Chewelah, Washington and Cynthia (William) Morgan of Indianola, Washington; grandchildren Christopher, Bryan and Holly; one great-grandson Cade; a brother William (Drue) and sisters Sally (Duane) Hodgins and Lilly Whitson; his nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church of Bonners Ferry or Bonner County Hospice.
