Forrest C. Drake

Forrest C Drake, 84, died peacefully in his sleep at the Boundary County Hospital on Wednesday 1-16-2008 of complications related to pneumonia and his heart. Services to announced latter. Born March 13, 1923 in Fairview Montana, Forrest was one of 9 children of Frank and Marie of Bonners Ferry. The Drake Family moved from Charboneau North Dakota to Bonners Ferry in 1937, and Forrest graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1941. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1942, and proudly served his country for four years. After the Navy, Forrest returned to join the family logging business, married Millie Fox, and together they raised her four children - Adrian, Paula, Susie and Jon. His career followed the path to truck driving, including having his own trucks and amazingly he drove for 45 years without a single traffic ticket. His dear wife Millie, his parents Frank and Marie, and his brothers Sidney, Darwood, Herman, Harvey and Bill preceded Forrest in death. Forrest was man with a quick sense of humor, keen mind and love and passion for animals and children. He will be missed by many including his brother Vern, his sisters Irene and Aggie, his caring friends Ruth Ann and Jim, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Memorial Services will be held later in the Spring, 2008 with dates to be announced.
