Andrew Joseph Chersin, II, (79) passed away on January 28, 2008 at the Community Hospital in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Funeral Services will be held on February 11, 2008 at 3:00pm in the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home with private internment in the Grandview Cemetery.
Andrew was born on October 7, 1928 in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania to Andrew Joseph and Rosalie (Dinople) Chersin. After his education he served in the Merchant Marines with the Coast Guard and then Served in the US Army during the Korean War. On October 13, 1959 he married Thelma Jean Miller in Las Vegas, NV. He was a fisherman, Barber and Machine Operator.
Throughout his life he enjoyed family, auctions, hunting, working with his hands, wood carving and making replicas of vintage lamp shades. Andy was always ready for a good game of poker with his buddies from the Lions Club which he was a long time member. Andy enjoyed giving back to his community through the Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife Thelma Jean Chersin; daughter Linda Louise Caruso; son, Edward Allen Jackson Chersin; son, David Chersin; son, Andrew Joseph Chersin III; daughter, Debra Jean Vasquez; twenty grandchildren; five sisters, two brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent in care of the family at 33834 N. St Joe Dr., Spirit Lake, ID 83869 to be used in Alzheimer’s Research.
