Helen Ruth Monger

Helen Ruth Monger (90) passed away on Friday, March 21, 2008 at the Benewah Community Hospital, in St. Maries, Idaho. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 11:00 am in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Private internment will be in the Grandview Cemetery, Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Helen was born on July 8, 1917 to Mae and Joel Douglas in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. She lived her entire life in Bonners Ferry. On September 5, 1941 Helen married Alvin J. Monger. They made their home on the South Hill. They never had any children but helped raise quite a few. She taught Kindergarten with her sister, Gertrude Wyatt for several years, along with cooking at the sale ring. She raised a nice garden every year and did lots of canning. She was also passionate about fishing, flowers, and family. Helen was a courageous lady who would help anyone in need. To many she was known as Aunt Helen or Grandma. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters: Stella, Beulah, Nell, Gertrude, Laura, Florence and Kathleen, Brothers Bill, Dayton, Harold and James. Helen is survived by numerous nieces and nephews who loved her very much and will miss her greatly. Family suggest memorials be sent to a charity of your Choice.
