Dona Laverne Worley

Dona La Verne (Schenck) Worley passed away Wednesday April 30, 2008 at the Boundary County Nursing Home, Bonners Ferry, Idaho. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 11:00am in St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bonners Ferry with internment following in the Grandview Cemetery. Dona was born on November 27, 1935 in Helena, Montana to Christopher George and Helen La Verne (Smigaj) Schenck. She attended schools in Bonners Ferry, and graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1953. She also attended Sacred Heart School of Nursing from 1953 to 1954. She became a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked at Boundary County Community Hospital for several years. On May 26, 1959 she married Walter Worley at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Dona had many hobbies throughout her life including reading, flower gardening, knitting, stamp collecting and all things "bird". She also loved working with and teaching 4-H groups. She was a generous and warm-hearted soul who gave much of her time and energy to her children. She was very proud of each of her children and grandchildren, and she loved to share their lives with everyone she knew. She is survived by husband, Walter Worley of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; Theresa and Peter Barnett, daughter and son-in-law of Martinez, California; Gary and Monique Worley, son & daughter-in-law of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; Brian and Lyla Worley, son & daughter-in-law of Philomath, Oregon; Dawn & Mark Barnard, daughter & son-in-law of Moscow, Idaho; and Jeff & Selina Worley, son & daughter-in-law of Spokane, Washington. Dona is also survived by fifteen grandchildren: Michael, Carrie, Allison, Jennifer, Laura, Matthew, Michaela, Cheyenne, Sarah, Andrew, Morgan, Victoria, Katherine & Rachel and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Christopher George and Helen La Verne Schenck, Brother, Clifton George Schenck, and grandson, Brent Anthony Worley. The family suggests memorials be made to Boundary County Hospital Extended Care Facility
