Allen Wyatt VanAlstyne, Jr., 84, of Bonners Ferry, died Saturday (Dec. 28) at Hospice of North Idaho in Coeur d’Alene. Services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 1:00pm in the Mountain Springs Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. He had been a veteran of the United States Navy. Surviving him are his wife of 60 years, Beverly, of Bonners Ferry; and three daughters, Debbie, Medina and Stacy; and three grandchildren, Dean, April and Keaton. Al enjoyed gardening, bingo, building things, golf and most especially tickling his daughters’ feet when they were little. His greatest joy was helping to raise his grandson Dean, the son he never had. Services will be announced at a later date by Bonners Ferry Funeral Home; his family suggests memorials be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in his memory.
