Dennis Merrill Lincks, son of Jeannette (Johnson) and Edwin M. Lincks died May 11, 2014 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. The funeral service will be at 3p.m. Sat May 17th at Mountain Springs Church in Bonners Ferry, ID graveside service to following the Paradise Valley Cemetery. He was born December 11, 1950 in East Cleveland, Ohio. He moved with his family and new Stepfather, Les Levig, to Bonners Ferry, Idaho . In August, 1961, the family moved to Westlake, Calif. where they lived for two years and then moved to Fairfax, Calif. He graduated from Sir Francis Drake High School in 1969. He enlisted in the Navy Feb. 17, 1970 and was discharged Dec. 21, 1978 during which time he served aboard the USS Kitty HawkCV-63 where he was a member of the Knight Riders 52nd MATFICON working on the fire control systems on the A-6 Intruders. He married Rona Marcy June 9, 1979. They had two sons, Timothy Merrill, born Dec. 15, 1980, and Joshua Aaron, born Dec. 31, 1983. He received his BS at the University of Idaho in Agricultural Econ in 1989. He started working in the U of I Registrar’s Office while still a student and continued working there until his retirement in 2011. During which time he held numerous positions and served the Staff Affairs Council for seven years and was chairman from 2000-2001 and was staff for IACRO summits and received many awards for service and dedication. Dennis was active in Cub Scouts and Boy scouts with his sons including serving as Cubmaster for Moscow pack 323 from 1990-1991. Dennis was active in the Walk to Emmaus and Chrysalis. He directed a Young Adult Journey and served on the Chrysalis Board for 5 years. He was preceeded in death by his son, Timothy and his father, Ed Lincks, all four grandparents and his younger brother, Donald. He is survived by his wife, Rona, his son, Joshua, Mother, Jeannette and Stepfather Les Levig, 3 sisters, Cathleen (Rick) Hatcher, Beth (Les) Butters, Lynn (Ron) Self, numerous Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
