Robert Eugene Smith

Robert Eugene Smith lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 5, 2008. He passed peacefully in his sleep. Services will be held on Friday, August 29, 2008 at 10:00am in the Free Methodist Church in Bonners Ferry. Robert was born on July 27, 1930 in Cortland, NY to Theresa Nancy (Mead) and Preston Winfield Smith. After high school he joined the US Navy and traveled many years in the service. He then met and married MaryLou Yeakel in 1963 in Pennsylvania. Robert was honorably discharged in 1964. He and MaryLou then raised 4 children. Robert loved to work with his hands rebuilding cars, home and away maintenance. In 1998 Robert and MaryLou divorced and Robert bounced around for a while. He then met and married Kathryn Smith. Robert and Kathryn lived happily together for ten years. Robert was a very loving and caring Dad, Grandfather and husband and we love and miss him everyday. Robert is survived by his loving wife Kathryn Smith, His Children Debbie, Stacie, Chris, Keith, LaRai', Steven, Sharon, John, Linda and Janice and his grandchildren: Amber, Tiffany, Christian, Kelsey, Robert, Alexsandra, and Damien and many more.
