Memorial services for Wayne W. Bornemann, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at the Bonners Ferry Free Methodist Church. Wayne passed away Sept. 19 at the Boundary County Community Hospital in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Wayne was born July 23, 1940 in Hazen, North Dakota to John and Irene Scherer Bornemann. He graduated from Hazen High School in 1957 and served in the U.S. Air Force, assigned to duty stations in Alaska and Yaak, Montana. He married Nancy Roland of Bonners Ferry in 1959, and they made their home in Bonners Ferry, raising their daughters Willa, Karen, Janie, and Sharon. He worked extensively in the construction and automotive trades in north Idaho, being employed for several years with Brandt Construction and retiring from Contractors Northwest, Inc., of Coeur d'Alene in 2006. Wayne is survived by brothers Myron Bornemann and wife Yvonne of Pic City, North Dakota; Layton Bornemann and wife Jolaine of Hazen, North Dakota; sisters Naomi Sjogen of Valley Springs, California; Gloria Kruckenburg and husband Gerald of Bismarck, North Dakota; Carla Malyska of Corning, New York; daughters Willa Robinson and husband Mike of Grain Valley, Missouri; Karen Pearcy and husband Dan of Newport, Washington; Janie Early and husband Chris or Hermiston, Oregon; Sheri Wilson and husband Mike of Mountain Home, Idaho; grandchildren Russell Pearcy and wife Bryden of Honolulu, Hawaii; Dale Pearcy and companion Mary Roesbery of Westport, Washington; Madeline Robinson of Kansas City, Missouri; Chase Robinson of Columbia, Missouri; Liam Early of Hermiston, Oregon; great-grandchildren McKenna Pearcy and Ashton Pearcy of Honolulu, Hawaii; sister-in-law Nolda Gross of Moyie Springs, Idaho; brother-in-law R.C. Roland and wife Connie of Post Falls, Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceeded in death by his parents, John and Irene Bornemann, sister-in-law Sara Lou Gallagher, and brothers-in-law Lennis Gross and Gary Gallagher. Memorial donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
