John E Hicks

John E. Hicks (94) passed away on April 25, 2015 at the Community Restorium in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. John was born on August 27, 1919 in War, West Virginia to Jesse and Flaranda Hicks. He attended elementary schools there in West Virginia and worked in a coal mine. In 1943 he enlist ed in the US Army and served in WWII. He was discharged in 1946. He marred Florence and adopted her daughter Sandy and settled in Lincoln Nebraska. In 1956 he moved with his family to Phoenix where he and his brother ran a construction company. John retired in 1988 and moved to Moyie Springs, Idaho After the death of his wife Florence he married Cleo Mae in 2003. John is survived by his wife Cleo Mae of Bonners ferry; daughter Sandy Shuman and husband Fred; grandchildren Chris Domeraski, LuAnn Domeraski and 4 Great grandchildren. He was preceded in death his parents and wife’s Florence and Mary Ellen.
