Sadie Amoth Profile Photo
Our mother, Sadie Amoth, was born to Henry and Elizabeth (Esau) Wedel, on April 4, 1932 at Montezuma, Kansas. She departed this life September 21, 2015 at Sunset Home, Bonners Ferry, Idaho, reaching the age of 83 years. At approximately four years of age, she together with her family moved to Livingston, California where she grew to adulthood. Her father passed away when she was 16 years old, which created a need for her to seek employment to help support the family. Her willingness to do so became a central part of her personality. As a teenager she felt the need of Savior, and upon confession of her faith, was baptized by Min. Ben T. Koehn, remaining faithful to her commitment until death. On May 16, 1954, she married Dennis Lee Amoth at Livingston, California sharing life’s joys and sorrows for fifty four years. Their home was blessed with two sons and two daughters. Dad passed away in 2008, leaving Mom to face life alone. The last two and one half years of her life were spent at Sunset Home in Bonners Ferry. We as a family deeply appreciate the loving and selfless care given to her there. Their first home was in Santa Monica, California as Dad was in 1-W service there. Following this time they moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho for approximately 8 years, moving back to Livingston in 1963, residing there for several years, forming many lasting friendships. Our family returned to Bonners Ferry where they lived until God called them home. Our mother was a capable and hardworking woman, spending many years working at a local bank, in addition to being a dedicated homemaker. Looking back we marvel at the amount of time and effort spent in canning, gardening, sewing and handwork. Those left to cherish precious memories are her children: Janine and Jake Peachey, of Scott City, Kansas; Doug and Serena, of Gentry, Arkansas; Jerry and Donna, of Mora, Missouri; Nadine and Grant Dirks of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; one brother, Marvin Wedel and wife Sandy, of Longmont, Colorado: sisters-in-law: Frances Koehn, Melvina Amoth, Ann Amoth, all of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; Dorothy Wedel of Montezuma, Kansas; brothers-in-law: Don Amoth of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; Wayne and Letha Amoth of Buhl, Idaho; Les and Doris Amoth of Glenn, California; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law.
