Zoe Earlene Aitken, (51) passed away on Friday, May 1, 2009 from complications related to Pneumonia at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. A Wake will start on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 5:00pm at the Kootenai Tribal Hall near Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 11:00am at Praise Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho with interment following in the St. Michael’s Mission Cemetery, Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
Zoe was born on August 24, 1957 in Fredericksburg, VA to George and Frances Tate and grew up in Colonial Beach and Richmond, VA areas. She was married twice before she met and married Robert Bruce Aitken; they were married on March 5, 1993 in Bonners Ferry, ID.
She loved to sing when she was younger, she sang a lot of solos while going to church as a child, she liked to hang out where he father George (Joe) Earl Tate worked as a firefighter, he was the Chief of the Colonial Beach Fire Department. She loved to plant flowers, garden, watching television, and being around the water. She loved to water ski as a teenager. Zoe liked having nice jewelry, and liked the way her family was there for her through thick and thin and loved her family the most. Zoe traveled a lot never staying in one place for too long until she came to Bonners Ferry where she has been for almost 25 years. She loved Bonners Ferry and how friendly the people in the area were. She was grateful to have her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband Robert Aitken, son, Baptiste Andrew Aitken and daughter Leah Ferrell Aitken, Son Joel Cherry, mother Frances Tate, Aunt Alma Roissell, grand daughter Jocylyn Aimee Cherry.
God may she rest in peace forever,Russell, Zoes dad had a saying “if you can’t go first class, don’t go”. We love you mom!
