Veryl Gloria Lindsay passed away at home in Bonners Ferry, Idaho on March 23, 2016. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 3:00pm in the United Methodist Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Veryl Gloria Moore was born November 15, 1931 in Spokane, WA. Her parents lived near Priest Lake, Idaho at the time. Because of possible snow storms, Iris and Jack Moore rode a sleigh out to a road, then transferred an automobile to drive to Spokane until her birth day. During her youth she lived in Colin, ID; Spokane, WA; Dover, ID and Bonners Ferry. Veryl attended Bonners Ferry High School and graduated in 1949. She played a fluted purchased from the Sears and Roebuck catalogue. After high school, she attended Whitworth College to take courses for nursing school at Deaconess Hospital. Veryl was capped RN June 18, 1952 at the Central Methodist Church in Spokane, WA. She married Don B. Lindsay in Bonners Ferry on August 3, 1952 at the former Trinity Lutheran Church downtown. Her Aunt Harriet Goolsbey sewed the ivory satin dress. Veryl worked in the University of Idaho Infirmiry while Don finished his business coursework. Don and Veryl lived a short time in Fort Benning, GA. Later Veryl worked as an RN in Junction City, Kansas. Don received army orders to report to Japan. During that time, Veryl lived in at trailer house and worked at the Boundary Community Hospital. Veryl worked from 1954 to the 1980s. Veryl and Don Lindsay raised two children: Shellye Dawn (1956) and Scot Shawn (1958) making sure their first name spellings were unique. Veryl's parents were John Graham Moore and Iris Idel Goolsbey Moore Peters. Veryl is survived by her husband of 63 years Donald B Lindsay, her brother John Terry Moore (Spokane), daughter Shellye D Lindsay (Boise), Scot S Lindsay (Bonners Ferry) and three grandchildren Karl David Smith, Nichole Brandy Barker and Skyler Winchester Lindsay. One may contribute to Fry Healthcare Foundation in memory of Veryl Lindsay. A memorial fund has been set up to purchase stuffed animals/creatures for children needing comforting while at the hospital. Fry Healthcare Foundation, 6640 Kaniksu ST, Bonners Ferry, ID 83805.
