Bernadine A. Kline (Toni) passed away Saturday, May 9,2009 at Ace Elder Care in Bonners Ferry. She was born on April 23, 1918 in Iowa. A memorial service will be held at Grandview Cemetery on Monday, May 18, 2009 at 3:00pm interment will follow.
Toni married Ken Kline on October 18, 1944. After traveling back and forth from California to Idaho for a few years, they settled in Moyie Springs in the early 1960s.
Ken worked at the Bonners Ferry City power plant in Moyie, retiring in 1975. Toni worked as a checker for Safeway in Bonners Ferry for several years before retiring.
Toni was a member of the Eagles AuxilIary and the Curly Q's home extension club. She attended the First Baptist Church for many years. Toni always cherished her many friendships she made along the way. She had a special fondness for cats and raised several during her lifetime.
In 1996 Toni moved from her home in Moyie Springs to the Senior Apartments in Bonners Ferry. In 2001 she suffered a stroke and moved into Huckleberry Retirement Home, which was later renamed Ace Elder Care, where she spent the last eight years of her life.
Toni was preceded in death by her husband Ken, her parents and one sister.
She is survived by a nephew, Ken Brink and wife Pam of Bonners Ferry and a niece, Diane Craw and husband Gary of Lake Havasu, Arizona.
Her family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Ace Elder Care for their many years of excellent care and kindness shown to Toni.
