Reynolds, Sarah (Sally) Louise was reborn to her Eternal Life with Jesus on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 6:10 pm. The vigil (rosary) will be held at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home in Bonners Ferry at 7:00 pm on Friday April 22nd and the funeral Mass will be celebrated at the United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 23rd at 10:00 am. Known to most as either Sal or Sally, and to nieces and nephews as Aunt Sal or “A. S.” she was born on August 11, 1930 in Denison, Iowa. Her parents were Marie (Mesenbrink) and Harold Servoss. Sal’s childhood was spent in Denison, Iowa and Blair, Nebraska. The family relocated to Bonners Ferry where she graduated from Bonners Ferry High School. She was employed as a secretary for Frank Lenhart at his automotive repair shop located downtown at the end of Main Street. Sal met Rex Reynolds, a customs broker working in Eastport, at an American Legion Auxiliary Dance. They fell in love. Later Rex was transferred to Sweetgrass, MT where they were married. Sal, Rex and her son Jim lived for many years in Sweetgrass. After her son Jim and later Rex passed away, Sal moved to Spokane to live with her brother Dee Servoss. After several years she moved to Sandpoint and a few years later to Bonners Ferry where she lived for the last eight years. Sal had many gifts and talents but her primary talent was her ability to play the piano, the organ and sing. She also had a very deep Catholic faith and wherever she lived, Sweetgrass, Spokane, Sandpoint or Bonners Ferry, she was involved with a local Catholic Church playing the organ or piano or both. iOne of her favorite pastimes was to play her piano and sing praise music. Her love of music touched all of us. For her family and friends she was our spiritual cheerleader. You could not have a conversation with Sal that did not include references to the power of prayer and the Catholic faith. She would routinely hand out or mail religious books and prayers to all of us. She believed and lived her faith. She is preceded in death by her husband Rex and son Jim, her parents Marie and Harold Servoss, her sisters Clalien Carper, Patricia Joyce “PJ” McNally and her brother Delos “Dee” Servoss. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Sal will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her but we rejoice that she is free and with the Lord. The Bonners Ferry Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the St. Ann’s Catholic Church Altar Society.
