Laura Joan Disney

Laura Disney, 86 passed away at the home of her daughter, Susan and son-in-law Darryl Stolley on July 17, 2016. Laura was born in Anaconda, MT on February 26, 1930 and was the youngest child of Beatrice (Duval) and Matt Kelly. Following graduation from Anaconda Central High School Laura attended Saint Mary’s College in Xavier, Kansas and the University of Montana in Missoula. Laura met Dick Disney in Anaconda where he was playing baseball. The two married at Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX on October 6, 1951. Following Dick’s military service the couple returned to Anaconda. The couple adopted three children, Rick, Susan and Michael. By 1966 the family settled in Helena, MT. Laura worked at Carroll College and the Diocese of Helena. Laura is survived by her husband Dick, daughter Susan and son Michael of Bentonville, AR, Grandchildren Sarah Stolley of Killeen, TX Abby (Pat) Gruber of Missoula, MT, Connor, Anna and Halle of Bentonville, AR, Great grandchildren Charlie and Jack Gruber of Missoula, nephews Fr. Ed Ruane of Denver, John (Shirley) Ruane of Butte, and nieces Pat (Joe) Sicoli of Napa and Mary (John) Pahut of Butte. Preceding Laura in death were her parents, sisters Dorothy Ruane and Francis Kelly, brothers Thomas and James, son Rick. Services will be held at 10:30 Monday August 15, 2016 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Missoula, MT.
