Jonas J. Yoder, 98, of Bonner's Ferry, Idaho and formerly of Goshen, died Thursday afternoon, June 11, 2009, at Ace Elder Care in Bonner's Ferry.
He was born in Hydro, Oklahoma on October 2, 1910, to Joseph J. and Fannie (Eash) Yoder. He married Lizzie Garver on February 8, 1940, in Garnett, Kansas. She preceded him in death on January 28, 2004.
A farmer and saw mill worker, Mr. Yoder was a member of the Griner Mennonite Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Emma Mae Miller of Paris, Texas, and Marily (Mervin) Mullet of Goshen; a son, Raymond Jay (Fern) Yoder of Bonner's Ferry, Idaho; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; six brothers, Menno J., John J., Jerry J. Ezra J., Joseph J. Jr., and Henry J. Yoder ; and five sisters, Polly Mast, Katie Mullet, Annie Yoder, Fannie Yoder and Emma Gingerich.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 16, at Griner Mennonite Church, Middlebury.
A 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at the church with Rev. John Yoder of Griner Mennonite Church and Rev. Menno Yoder of Milford Chapel officiating.
Burial will be in Griner Cemetery, Middlebury.
