Roy Neil Gross

Roy N. Gross (71) passed away on Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Boundary Community Hospital, in Bonners Ferry. Services will be Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 11am in the First Baptist Church in Bonners Ferry, Id. Roy was born on August 30, 1937 in Bonners Ferry, Id to Edwin and Malma Gross. He grew up in Bonners Ferry with his five brothers and two sister. He received his education through the Boundary County Schools. He later served in the U S. Army, from February 1957 to February 1963. On November 12, 1966 he married the love of his life Marie Scott in Couer d' Alene, Idaho. They remained in Bonners Ferry and raised their 5 children. He loved spending time outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. Also he was a lifetime member of the NRA. He took pride in teaching many young adults the importance of gun safety. Roy was dedicated to the logging profession. He was a loyal employee to Louisiana Pacific, then Anderson Logging Road Building- Idaho Granite Works. Roy is survived by his three daughters Valerie Gross and her fiancé Milton from Tacoma, Washington; Teresa Gross from Lewiston, Idaho; Tracy Gross from Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Also by his two sons Corey Gross from Pullman, Washington; and Casey Gross from Bonners Ferry, Idaho; his four grandchildren Shawn, Derrick, Elijah, and Brandon. Also by his three sister-in-Iaws Janna Sohl of Spokane, Washington; Glenda (Scotty) Weholt from Hayden, Idaho; Tina Bright of Bonners Ferry, Idaho. With many nieces and nephews, and cousins. Roy was preceded in death by his wife Marie; his daughter Vicki; his mother and father Edwin and Malma Gross; his brothers Duane, Edwin, Lennis, Meryle, Myron; and his sisters Maxine and Lorraine (Anny).
