M. Pearl Davis (80) passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the Boundary Community Hospital in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 2:00 pm in the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Burial will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
Pearl was born April 25, 1929 in Ehrenfeld, Pennsylvania to Robert and
Mildred Lobb. She was the oldest of nine surviving children having four
brothers and three sisters. A set of twins died at birth.
Pearl graduated from Houtzdale Woodward Joint High School in 1947. She
began a life's journey that allowed her to travel extensively and to reside
in Germany, Hawaii and several states including Missouri, Texas and Alaska.
She held many jobs during her lifetime primarily in the service industry
where her sunny disposition resulted in her acquiring many loyal and long
term friends.
She received additional education and graduated from the Northwest School of
Hotel and Motel Management. She subsequently held several managerial
positions including manager for a company that manufactured culvert pipes in
Alaska.
Pearl moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho from Alaska and shortly thereafter open
up the Carriage Trade Dress Shoppe. Though this business venture was
successful, Pearl ultimately joined the wait staff of the Chick-n-Chop
Restaurant where she remained a highly valued employee for fifteen years.
Although Pearl had two daughters, one on the east coast and one on the west
coast, she considered the Earl Erickson her "family".
Pearl's superstitions nature presented itself in various quirky sayings that
endeared her to her customers. She was known by many and loved by all who
knew her.
Pearl is survived by two daughters, Marian (Lorrie) Corsi of Fredonia, N.Y.
and Karen (Greg) Krape of Renton, Washington; three granddaughters, Jill
Caroli (Peter), JoLynne Miller (Gary) and Kate Wakefield and three great
grandvhildren.
She is also survived by 2 brothers, Ronald Lobb of Cocoa, Florida and
Raymond Lobb of Arizona; three sisters, Boatrice Kercher of Allentown,
Pennsylvania, Delores Shaffer and Louise Cherit of Satsuma, Florida
