Jill Ann Robinson (66) passed away on December 11, 2009 at the Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 1:00 pm in the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home. Jill was born on September 18, 1943 in Williston, ND to Merriam and Elmer Afseth. She later moved to Red Lake Falls, MN, attended a Catholic elementary school. In 1956 she moved to BF in 1956, assisted her parents in operating the REX theatre while attending school at Valley View and later Bonners Ferry High School where she graduated in 1961. She married Rod Robinson a month later on June 17, 1961. To this union two children were born first child, James Steven Robinson, January 7, 1963, second child, Karen L. Robinson, born May 5, 1967. They purchased the Windmill body shop from Emil Smith late fall of 69, this was her home until her death. Divorce eminent, she enrolled in Nurse's training at NIC summer of 1980. Graduated, registered nurse, spring of 1983. Went to work at Bonner General Hosp, Sandpoint immediately after graduation. She then went to work for Boundary County Community Hospital in home health department in about 1988. She played lead guitar and sang in a local country band on weekends approx 1983 thru 1992. She assisted Grandma and Grandpa in their later years with medical issues and day to day life beginning approx 1992 until their death through financial necessity to pay for Grandma and Grandpa's care, she turned their home into "Selkirk View Home", an assisted living facility for elderly and terminally ill patients in approx 1998 which she operated until spring of 2009. She loved cooking all her life but took a special interest in it the last few years. She had 3 copies of every cookbook ever printed and spent most of her waking hours listening to the food network. She had every kitchen gadget available. Her life was made complete on November 6, 2002 when her grandson Gage was born. Gage was the highlight of her life. She looked forward to her weekly "granny" visits and patterned her entire life around them. Things that meant a lot to her: her kids and grandson first & foremost, husband/relationship, her parents/Grandpa & Grandma, her friends and acquaintances her town, Bonners Ferry, Boundary County. This was her "home", all the dogs, she loved the dogs, holidays, family get togethers, X-mas, thanksgiving, family reunions, helping Dad with the body shop, camping, cooking, gardening, canning, sewing, music, home improvement projects, swimming pool, yard and landscaping, and entertaining. Preceded in death by her parents, sister Judy, niece Heidi and a thousand aunts and uncles survived by her son Jim, daughter Karen, grandson Gage, and dog Maggi.
