Eleanor Marguerite Erickson (69) passed away at the Hospice House in Spokane, Washington on February 2, 2010. Services will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 11:00am in the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Interment will be in the Grandview Cemetery, Bonners Ferry. Eleanor was born on March 18, 1940 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho to Melvin and Harriet (Duff) Erickson. She was raised in Bonners Ferry and graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1958. She worked at Fashion Cleaners. She then attended Kinman Business College after which she worked for the telephone company in San Francisco, CA and in Seattle, Washington. In the mid 1960’s she went to worked for Eastern Airlines in ticket and reservations in Seattle later transferring to Atlanta, GA and then to Salt Lake City, UT before retiring. She returned to Bonners Ferry where she lived with and cared for her mother. After the death of her mother she took Hospice training and worked in home health care. Throughout her life she enjoyed her pets, painting, drawing, writing short stories and poetry, speaking French, and playing her violin with the Idaho Old Time Fiddles. She especially enjoyed playing her violin at the Restorium. Eleanor was an avid reader and enjoyed taking computer and writing classes at North Idaho College. Her vivacious personality and zest for life will definitely leave a void in our lives. Survivors include sister Ingrid Spears and husband Bill of Cheney, WA and their children Shelli Spears, Dianna Martinsen, Jennifer Fister, Russell Spears and Wesley Spears; sister Joanne Erickson of Bonners Ferry, ID and her children Kristine Thompson, Cindy Agueros, Gina Branscome, Jeff Thompson and Marty Thompson. She also leaves behind numerous great nieces and nephews and many close friends. Family members who preceded Eleanor in death were her parents Melvin and Harriet Erickson and brother Roger Erickson.
