Carl Dean Wortley

Carl Dean Wortley (63) passed away at the Bonner General Hospital in Sandpoint, Idaho on February 10, 2010. A funeral service will be held February 16, 2010 at 11:00am in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Carl was born on August 30, 1946 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Chester Lynn and Dorothy Grace (Haight) Wortley. He was raised in Howe, Idaho and went to school in Arco, Idaho. Carl joined the U.S. Army in 1966 and was in the 1st Air Calvary in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968. In 1969 he married Sue Ann Cummings from Arco, Idaho. From the years of 1972 until 1984 Carl and Sue had 6 children, 1 daughter and 5 sons. Carl and his family have lived many places over the years. While on their way to Alaska, they stopped in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. They have been in Bonners Ferry for 23 years. Carl has been active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has been an active part of the community with Idaho Search and Rescue, a volunteer firefighter, Cub Scout leader and the chief of the Winedot Indian tribe for the state of Idaho. Carl’s life has been filled with many years of leadership and service to everyone he has come in contact with. Survivors include his wife Sue Ann Wortley of Naples, ID, Daughter Angela Kester of Boonville, CA; Sons: Corey Wortley of Boise, ID; Justin Wortley of Bonners ferry, ID; Trinity Wortley of Coeur d’Alene, ID; Joshua Wortley of Naples, ID; Andrew Wortley of Naples, ID; grandchildren: Tyrell Wortley, Alonzo Wortley, Dyanie Wortley, Josie Wortley al of Naples, Idaho; Nevlin Wortley, Starr McKenzie both of Coeur d’Alene, Id; and Devin Tyler of Boonville, CA. He is also survived by his mother Dorothy Wortley of American Falls, ID; and three sisters: Tammy Wortley of Four Corners, AZ; Marie Smhigall of American Falls, ID; and Ruth Montross of American Falls, ID.
