Lynn Marshall Pratt, 69, was fatally injured while operating heavy machinery on his ranch at Moyie Springs, Idaho on May 13, 2010. Lynn was born in Everett, WA to Lee M. and Lois M. Pratt on December 16, 1940. He was raised in Seattle, Washington and graduated from Roosevelt High School in Seattle. Lynn had a life long interest in things mechanical and electronics. After high school he joined the Air Force where he honed is skills in the technical field of operating, testing and trouble shooting a variety of radar and other electronic equipment. After the Air Force he worked for Honeywell, Bendix and on NASA Tracking sites all over the world. Some of the satellites were tracking the habits of bears in hibernation, space launches and even doing laser tracking of the movements along earthquake fault lines. Since 1958 Lynn has been in love with Northern Idaho. He always returned to Careywood and the Kellogg Ranch before he went on to his next assignment. Upon retirement he bought his place at Moyie Springs and started adding to his collection of big toys. His other passion was salmon fishing, especially the annual extended-family trips to Buck's Trophy Lodge at Rivers Inlet, BC. Lynn is survived by his father Lee Pratt, sister Lois Roby, niece and nephews; Deborah, Richard and David Roby and their families, and many wonderful cousins. His mother Lois M. Pratt predeceased him. Lynn was a big man, great of brain and heart. He is sorely missed. Any donations in his name may be made to the Curley Creek Volunteer Fire District. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the Chic and Chop Restaurant in Bonners Ferry, Idaho at 1 :00 pm.
