Robert James Steffens

Robert (Bob) J. Steffens, passed away Friday, Aug. 20, 2010. He was born in Coulee Dam to Joseph and Grace Steffens on November 29, 1948. He started out as an ironworker for the Union Local #14 in 1968. Then in 1978 he went to work for the USBR Grand Coulee Dam Project, retiring in 2009. Bob was an active member of the Eagles and Moose Lodges, as well as a volunteer firefighter for Electric City. He took great pride in his lawn work and always had a long story to share with anyone who had time to listen, and those who didn’t. He had a great passion for hunting, fishing, camping and umpiring. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carol; son Jon (wife Kathryn) and daughter Kerri (husband David) Dehn; grandchildren: Jessica, Rachel and Julie; mother Grace Steffens and brothers: Joe, Tom and Gary. He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters Jeanne and Judy. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Aug. 26, at 1 p.m. at the Eagles Lodge in Grand Coulee. All friends and family are welcome to say “farewell” to their beloved pal.
