Dale Dean Grissom, Sr.

Dale Dean Grissom, Sr., 85, of Bonners Ferry, passed away Jan. 31. Dale was born Feb. 16, 1921 to Edward T. and Susie (Roberts) Grissom, in St. Louis, MO. After service in the U.S. Navy, he moved to Tucson, AZ, where he attended the University of Arizona. He married Imogene Lilly in 1947. Dale had a long career with Southern Pacific Railroad, where he began as a locomotive engineer and retired from management in 1984. He and Imogene lived in Paradise, CA from 1984 until her death in 2005 just after their 58th anniversary. At that time Dale moved to Bonners Ferry to be near his daughter, Lynda Friesen. Dale is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Linda Grissom, of Dunnigan, CA; his daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Glenn Friesen, of Bonners Ferry; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene; his parents; his brother, Wayne Grissom; and his sister, Jeanette Cucchi. Dale’s loved ones are comforted in knowing he is with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and that they will one day be reunited. Memorial service arrangements are pending.
