Fred William Lemmert (Crazy Fred) passed away on February 12, 2007. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 19, 2007 at 1:00p.m. at the Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall in Bonners Ferry.
Fred was born on Sept. 4, 1954 in Cumberland Maryland to William and Irene Lemmert. When he was 14 days old his family moved to California, at that time he became the youngest person to fly across the US. At age 4 He won the All American Boy contest. That was the start of his life in Hollywood. He played Jesus in the The Bible; he played in Andy Griffith, Ozzie and Harriet, I Love Lucy, Mr. Ed shows and many more.
His love for baseball ended his career in Hollywood. He played baseball through high school as a catcher. Growing up on the beach Fred loved to surf daily. After school he joined the Air Force.
In 1976 he started Inland Diesel. In 1981 He moved the business from California to Careywood Idaho. In 1993 He became affiliated with Cummins Northwest and moved to Bonners Ferry. Between 1993 to date he became a Cummins warranty authorized dealer. He was very proud of his accomplishments with Cummins.
Everyone that knew Fred, knows that he was a perfectionist with his work. Over the years he accumulated a lot of knowledge for trucks and equipment. That knowledge is going to be missed.
When Fred wasn’t turning wrenches he was working with his dogs. He started raising Australian Shepherds in the early 80’s. He has met a lot of really good people through the dogs.
In 1992 He met Danna Billingsley at Deep Creek Restaurant where she was working. On Feb. 21, 1997 they were in married in Careywood, ID at Lewis and Marylyn Shreffler’s.
In 1999 he had started taking his family to gospel meetings and made his choice. Fred had a lot of stumbling stones along the way but the changes in his life were very evident to many people.
