Private interment will be in the Paradise Valley Cemetery Gus Samuel Fairchild was born to Jim and Juanita Fairchild on Sept. 9, 1978 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Gus always said that he had a great childhood playing and exploring the farm and countryside with his three older brothers and his cousins and friends. Gus worked at a variety of jobs in Boundary County. He also was happy to have the experience of living and working in Sitka, Alaska several times. But his home and heart were always here in North Idaho. Gus took great pleasure in 4-wheeling and hiking in the area. He loved to head out for a ride on his horse Banjo with one of his dogs, Paddy Cake or Willy, running a long beside. With his furry friends for companionship, Gus embraced his "Country Bumpkin" life in the great outdoors. Gus took up playing the guitar ten years ago. Soon he was writing his own music and heartfelt lyrics. These, of course, were fuel by his own life's experiences of both the good and the hard times. As he shared his music he very openly revealed his heart and soul to his listeners. Gus was blessed with some wonderful and understanding people who stuck with him through his struggles; those who encouraged him and loved him even in his most broken times. Gus has been known to say, "We are all broken, and that is how the Light gets in." He knew the Lord Jesus Christ as the True Light and as his Savior. Gus freely and proudly proclaimed his Christian faith to others. His loved ones are thankful that Gus is now completely healthy, happy, and in The Lord's loving care. Gus is survived by his parents, Jim and Juanita; brothers and sisters-in-law: Troy, Clark & Robbi, Glen & Elena; nephews: Colby & Monica, Colin, Felix, Mason, Tyson; nieces: Reagan, Sondra, Maggie. Gus is also survived by many loving aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.
