Lois Ann Butler Amoth was born on May 21, 1944, to Eldon and Lois Kleiwer Butler at Bonners Ferry, Idaho. She passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of October 16, 2021, at the Sunset Home Assisted Living after a very brief illness.
On November 12, 1960, Ann and Roland ‘Tom’ Amoth were joined in marriage at Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. They enjoyed forty years together and their home was blessed with six children.
In their early marriage while living in the Livingston, California area, Mom became acquainted with the church Dad attended as a boy. She realized her lost condition and upon confession of her faith she was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite on March 17, 1963, by Kenneth Koehn. She remained faithful to her vows and in her final hours assured her children she was ready to meet God.
While making their home at Livingston, California; Scott City, Kansas; and Bonners Ferry, Idaho, she had the opportunity to make lifelong friends whom she cherished.
Dad passed away in March of 2001 leaving Mom very lonely.
Mom was very talented with her hands. She spent many hours quilting, crocheting, knitting, and embroidering beautiful gifts for others. Her sense of humor was greatly enjoyed by family and friends, leaving us many memories of smiles and laughter.
As her health began to fail, she moved into the Sunset Home Assisted Living for the last five years of her life. Mom so appreciated her care and formed friendships with all her caregivers. The family sincerely appreciates and thanks all those involved in making it a pleasant home for Mom.
Those left to share memories are her children, Lori and Galen Williams, Lakin, Kansas; Sherri Mastre, Lisa and Cecil Wedel, Craig and Darla Amoth, Jeremy and Doreen Amoth, and Thayne Amoth, all of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-three great- grandchildren.
Also surviving are: sister-in-law Joannie Butler of Spokane, Washington, sister-in-law Frances Koehn of Glenn, California; brothers-in-law Don Amoth of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Wayne Amoth of Buhl, Idaho, Leslie and Doris Amoth of Glenn, California.
Those preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, and one brother; one son-in-law and one grandson; also, parents-in-law, three brothers-in-law, and five sisters-in-law.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 11:00 am at Mountain View Mennonite Church with burial to follow at the Mountain View Mennonite Cemetery.
