Nolda Marie Gross Profile Photo

Nolda left us on January 17, 2025 due to injuries suffered from a fall on August 5, 2024. Nolda was 85 years old.

Nolda Marie Gross was born August 24, 1939 in the Boundary County Hospital. Her parents were Florence and Robert Roland. Mom had two sisters and one brother, Sara Lou, Nancy, and R.C. Roland.

The family lived out by the Copeland Cemetery. Mom attended Copeland and Mt. Hall Schools and graduated from Bonners Ferry High School. After high school, she enrolled in nursing school thinking about being a nurse, then found out she didn’t like the sight of blood. Mom and her best friend Alice Hinthorn (Krause) left town to waitress at West Glacier for a summer.

When they came home, she met the love of her life, our dad Lennis O. Gross, they were married on August 26, 1961. Mom and dad remained in Boundary County. They had four children, Scott, Tony, Rick and Lynnea.

Mom was a waitress at the Panhandle Restaurant for 26 years, then at Fiest Creek, after that she retired. She was a great wife, mom, friend, and a wonderful person.

Mom is proceeded in death by her loving husband, Lennis, parents, Florence and Robert (Bud) Roland, sisters, Sara Lou and Nancy, grandson, Jeremy Gross, and great great granddaughter, Claire Sargent. She is survived by her brother, R.C. Roland and family, Scott and Michaelle Gross and family, Lennis A. Gross and family, Rick Gross and family, and Lynnea and Brad Compton and family. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids.

We are so proud and grateful to know that Nolda Marie Gross was our mom. We will miss her everyday for the rest of our lives. We want to say thank you Nolda Marie Gross for making us part of you. Your loving kids.
