Phyllis J Holmes

In Loving Memory of Phyllis J. Holmes, Wife, Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, Sister and Aunt who passed on to be with many family and friends that moved on before her, on Saturday, November 28, 2020 in the Life Care Center of Sandpoint, Idaho. She was 87 years old. Phyllis was born the oldest of five children on December 25, 1932 to the parents of Harold Everett Rankin and Beatrice Iola (Schultz) Rankin of Reasnor, Iowa. Phyllis graduated from Monroe High School in 1952. On December 13, 1952, Phyllis was united in marriage with Robert D. Holmes in Newton, Iowa. She devoted her life to her Husband, Children, and Family and had a passion for rescuing and caring for dogs. She spent much of her time working at various jobs throughout life, from Telephone operator to numerous manufacturing and assembly positions. She was preceded in death by both her Parents, as well as her Husband. Those left to honor the memory of Phyllis include: her two Sons and Daughters-in-law: Robert Holmes and his Wife, Lisa of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; and Rick Holmes and his Wife, Manuela, of Waynesboro, GA; her seven Grandchildren: Michelle Holmes, Eric Holmes & his Wife, Sara, Craig Holmes, Zach Thompson, Amanda Holmes and Cody Holmes; Her 13 Great Grandchildren; two Brothers and sister-in-law’s: Richard Rankin and his Wife, Karen, of Newton, Iowa, Ronald Rankin and his Wife, Betty, of Reasnor, Iowa; and two Sisters and Brother-in-law: Sandra Tomerlin and her Husband, Bill, of Mansfield, Texas and Janet Funk, of, Newton, Iowa; and many of her friends. She will be forever missed by anyone who was blessed to know her!
