Vicky Anne Colter, born on December 8th, 1955 in Gooding, Idaho. She was 64 years old when she passed in Bonner’s Ferry, Idaho. She died peacefully in her sleep while at home. She travelled through, lived all over, and loved the northwest. She loved the beauty of the country, and the coastal panoramas, especially during the warmer spring and summer months. Moving from Idaho to Oregon with her family, Vicky was an excellent student, graduating from Thurston High School in Springfield, OR early at the age of 16. After starting her college education, she had her first son BJ and needed to turn her attention to the workplace. She was extremely hardworking, dedicated, loyal, and determined to make a great life for her family. Vicky had two more sons over the years as well, Eric and Kyle. Vicky thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, spending many moments with her sons, parents, and extended family fishing, crabbing on the Oregon coast, walking on the beach and gathering seashells, picnics in parks, and walks in the rose garden. She was married for 26 years at the time of her passing, and spent the majority of that time as a stay at home mother and housewife to Robert Freund. Vicky and Robert met in Eureka, Montana. They were introduced to each other through Vicky’s brother in law, and a co-worker of Bob’s while she was visiting family. Robert is an outdoorsman and nature enthusiast as well. They had great memories of camping and taking picnics in Glacier Park while he was courting her. Vicky and sons, Eric and Kyle went back home to Oregon, but still had a connection in Montana. Robert eventually went to Oregon and brought them back to Montana. They were married soon after. They spent time in Montana, Idaho, Arizona, then eventually, they moved back to Montana and Big Sky Country. While continuing to be a stay at home mother, she still made time to be active in her community and work as a domestic goddess cleaning houses. They found their way back to Idaho where they spent the last several years. Vicky had a very large, caring, and compassionate heart. She could easily make new friends, and deepen the relationship she had with current ones. Vicky carried on a family tradition of being a talented cook. She was a skilled seamstress and loved to create. She conceived many projects with leather work, woodworking, jewelry, making clothes, and embroidery. She was a very vibrant, outgoing, and passionate lover of people, animals, nature, and the outdoors. Vicky was an experienced gardener and helped put a bountiful feast on the table for her family. Vicky loved to read, putting herself into the stories, then sharing her experiences and readings with family and friends. Vicky valued spending time with family and friends, having meaningful conversations and building authentic connections. She took pride in having high morals, and treating others with dignity and respect both strangers and friends alike. Vicky was very thoughtful and giving to any and all that needed it, even when she did not always have it to give. Plans to spread Vicky’s ashes over and in the Oregon Coast will take place in 2020 when the immediate family convenes. Vicky was survived by her husband Robert Freund, her three sons BJ Tobey, Kyle Colter, & Eric Langerman and his wife Allison. Her sisters Kim Ratliff and Sher Colter, Aunts Helen and Dorothy, and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and their children and extended families. She made a large impact in her small world and it continues to spread. Mother, Wife, Sister, Aunt, Friend… Vicky is still making the world a better place even after she is gone.
